REGULAR & IRREGULAR VERBS VERBS What are verbs? Verbs are Known as action words. They tell us what someone or something is doing. Examples: He is running . (Here run is a verb) She sings beautifully. (Here sing is a verb) Regular verbs: Most verbs in English are regular verbs. These verbs follow a simple rule to change their form. To make past and past participles, we just add "-ed" or "-d" to the verb Examples Play becomes played. Walk becomes walked. Listen becomes listened. Irregular verbs: On the other hand , Irregular verbs are special as they do not follow the normal patterns for past and past participle. In other words, they don’t add "-ed" or "-d" to form past and past participle. Instead, they change in different ways, and there’s no single rule that applies to all of them.
